Chandler started coaching youth volleyball before graduating high school in Purdy, Missouri. He went on to play college volleyball for the University of Missouri. Chander has served as an assistant volleyball coach for Missouri Southern (1994-97) and a graduate assistant coach for Southwest Missouri State University (1997-2000). He has also served as head coach for both Springfield Juniors and Club Bear Volleyball. After taking time off to operate the Missouri Volleyball Club in Joplin, Missouri, Chandler returned to Springfield and to Club Bear.
